What Does a Franchise Owner Actually Do at ECG Brands?
When someone considers buying a franchise, one of the first questions they should ask is straightforward: what support does the franchisor provide, and what am I responsible for?
At ECG Brands, our Rydel Franchise Group and Deckify Franchise Group franchise owners have access to support in areas such as marketing, lead handling, estimating, accounting, administration, recruiting, training and business coaching. These resources give an owner processes and people to work with as they build their local operation.
The owner’s role is just as substantial. Franchisees build relationships in their market, speak with prospective customers, sell projects, hire and lead local team members, oversee execution and make decisions about their business. A roofing or decking project still needs someone locally accountable for the customer experience and the team delivering the work.
That division of responsibility matters. A person with strong sales and leadership ability may be ready to run a business without wanting to design every marketing process, estimating tool and administrative workflow from scratch. Central support gives that person a starting point and ongoing help. It does not remove the need to develop sound judgement or lead well.
It also shapes how an owner spends their time as the business grows. Early on, they may be involved in nearly every sale and operational decision. As they train and develop a team, their work can shift toward coaching people, reviewing performance and setting direction.
We want prospective owners to understand both sides of the model. The support is real, and so is the responsibility. Building a successful Rydel or Deckify location takes an engaged owner who is willing to sell, learn and lead.
