FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No. Most of our franchisees come from outside the trades—project managers, salespeople, operations leaders, and career changers. We provide estimating training, production oversight systems, vendor relationships, marketing, and ongoing coaching. You’re running the business, not swinging a hammer. In the first year of operation, we provide over one month of in-person training.

  • Most days revolve around:

    • Doing estimates and meeting homeowners

    • Running marketing and reviewing lead flow

    • Managing production schedules

    • Hiring and leading subcontractors

    • Basic admin and customer follow-up

You spend the majority of your time on estimating + operations, not on the tools.

  • On average:

    • $30,000 franchise fee

    • $60,000–$70,000 total startup costs (franchise fee, vehicle, tools, marketing, working capital all included)

Many owners secure government-backed small-business loans to finance a portion through BDC or ISED under the Canada Small Business Financing Program (CSBFP).

  • Most candidates bring $20,000–$30,000 in unencumbered cash. The rest can be financed.

  • While earnings vary, a typical first-year franchisee does $850k–$1.2M in revenue.
Net margins for well-run first year locations generally fall around 15%.

  • Most Rydel and Deckify franchisees reach seven figures within 12–16 months, provided they follow the system and maintain consistent marketing.

  • Three things:

    1. Brand + reputation already established

    2. Back-office support (call-centre, estimating, accounting, vendor pricing)

    3. Proven playbook for marketing, hiring, pricing, and scaling

This shortens the learning curve and reduces costly mistakes.

  • Home exteriors tend to remain stable industries because:

    • Roofs fail regardless of the economy

    • Decks/fences continue to be high-ROI lifestyle upgrades
